Specialised in Architectural Environmental Engineering. Interested in the relationship between comfort, wellness and energy. Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University.
Completed Ph.D. program at Waseda graduate school, Ph.D. in engineering. After working as a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, Assistant Professor at Ochanomizu University and Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, Waseda University, he has been a professor there since 2001.
He is a member of the Science Council of Japan, a member of the Strategic Policy Committee of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the METI, and Chairman of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Subcommittee of the METI.
